The Lao Ministry of Health has notified the World Health Organisation of a case of type 1 vaccine-derived poliovirus in a child with paralysis in Phameuang village, Borikhan district, Borikhamxay province. The case was laboratory-confirmed by the National Institute of Infectious Disease, Japan.
